Under the direction of the Registered Staff, the Personal Support Assistant is responsible and accountable for providing optimum services in the provision of activities of daily living, dining services, comfort and companionship to promote the quality of life and well-being of each individual resident. This support role involves core responsibilities across four main areas: providing Resident Support (daily comfort, activity and meal assistance, and lifting), meticulous Documentation and Communication (accurate record-keeping and reporting concerns), maintaining Environment and Safety (cleanliness, infection control, and safe food handling), and ensuring Compliance and Professionalism (adhering to safety regulations, participating in training, and positive interactions). 

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

• Secondary School Diploma preferred.

• Experience in customer service or working with seniors preferred

• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team

• Ability to model the warmth of human connection in communicating with residents, families, and visitors

• Sensitive and empathetic to the needs of others

• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education

• Must be computer literate

• Effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing

• Successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening requirements as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss. 81 (2) and Ontario Regulation ss. 252 (1).

Under the direction of the Co-Director of Care, the Personal Support Worker (PSW) is an integral part of the health care team, and in this role, encourages, supports and promotes independence for the residents by assisting with activities of daily living.

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for a comprehensive range of duties encompassing resident care, interdisciplinary collaboration, adherence to organizational policies, and the maintenance of a safe environment. Core responsibilities involve provision of direct patient care, diligent observation and timely reporting of changes in health status, and accurate completion of all required documentation. 

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

• Must have successfully completed a personal support work program that meets the requirements in subsection 52. (2) of the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation ss. 246/22; and provides proof of graduation issued by the education provider

• Candidates are also considered who are enrolled in a RN or RPN program in Ontario

• Experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset

• Ensures all Ministry of Long Term Care requirements are met

• Must demonstrate good communication skills

• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education

• Displays a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members

• Understands the demands and rewards of the role

• To enhance the requirements for quality customer service and engagement

• Must be computer literate

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is responsible for delivering direct care in accordance with the established care plans, ensuring the accurate and timely documentation of resident information, facilitating the orientation of new team members and residents, and participating in assigned committees. This position also requires the application of quality improvement and risk management principles, as well as the efficient management of supplies and the meticulous upkeep of the physical environment and equipment.

• Candidates must possess a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51

• Experience in a Long-Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset

• Performs care planning and coordination of care within a diverse multidisciplinary care team

• A demonstrated use of current care technology

• Shall exhibit strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

• Ensures all MOH and MLTC requirements are met
